- ➤ A rare Pyrrhuloxia from the South was spotted in a Sterling backyard on Tuesday by Melinda Berg, who posted her sighting (drawing local birdwatchers and an NDSU expert) and sparked fresh community connections. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Marine Corps Toys for Tots will increase its local toy donations this holiday season, as the program normally gives out about 17 million toys each year in our area. Officials say the expansion is meant to meet growing needs among local families. Williston Herald
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Native American small businesses can apply for a Commerce grant ranging from $10,000 to $600,000 (eligibility requires at least 51% Native American ownership and fewer than 500 employees). Applications must be emailed by Jan. 13 in North Dakota. KFYR-TV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota farmers and ranchers in Williston will attend an upcoming bird flu prevention series as highly pathogenic avian influenza continues affecting local poultry and dairy operations. The series is designed to help producers protect their flocks and herds. Williston Herald
