- ➤ Williston Community Builders, a volunteer nonprofit (merged with Williston Friendly Faces in 2016), has improved local parks, monuments and community spaces while organizing events like Dec. 4 Reindeer Games and the annual Festival of Trees that raise money to fight hunger and food insecurity. The group recently launched plans for Williston Water World and invites residents to volunteer and help build a stronger community. Williston Graphic
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Betsy Long, an artist-relations professional with experience on Grammy showcases — who has supported touring musicians and coordinated with producers — is building a network to bring international music to Williston and help local talent grow. International composer Emer Kinsella performed a calming sound bath at the recent Guiding Lights Conference and said she may return for violin workshops with young musicians, showing the town’s readiness for a fresh cultural chapter. - ➤ Harmonic Creative World will celebrate a year of music when the Children’s Choir and orchestra perform at Williston High School on Dec. 13 with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the show starting at 7:00 p.m. The group will also launch monthly STEAM workshops in early 2026 and seek new instructors — a plan to expand local talent and creative opportunities. - ➤ CHI St. Alexius Health employees Crystal Boxley, Crystal Orduno and Sharmaine Urbina are now collecting donations for the 2nd annual Giving Tree toy drive for the Salvation Army at the Leonard P. Nelson Family Cancer Center; donations of unwrapped toys, gifts and gift cards are accepted Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.—drive-by drop-offs will be available on November 29 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Williston Graphic
- ➤ McKenzie Health in Watford City honored Jennifer Uy & Wanda Gresens by naming them winners of the 2025 DAISY and BEE Awards for their extraordinary compassion and dedication to patient care. The awards recognize their skilled service to patients and contributions to quality healthcare. Williston Herald
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Williston and Williams County leaders have pledged $22 million for a new ice facility at Williston Square Development to ease crowded rink schedules for over 400 kids in the Basin Skating Club. The project, built by JE Dunn (using an old airport hangar), will add three rinks, including one open year-round, with groundbreaking expected this spring and completion set for 2028. KFYR-TV
