- ➤ The Williston Basin School District runs a food pantry at 820 East Broadway that is open today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and staff brace for more families needing food as SNAP benefits are paused amid a government shutdown—supporting about 35 families with over 800 pounds of food and welcoming boxed or monetary donations. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota Health and Human Services officials submitted a federal rural health grant application to secure over $500 million over the next five years to improve health care by boosting the workforce and strengthening telehealth programs—additional funds may be awarded based on competitive review. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will announce awards by the end of the year. KFYR-TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Glenburn senior Emma Jones led the Panthers to their first volleyball district championship in school history—she recorded 50 kills and 13 blocks in tournament matches and was named SERVPRO Athlete of the Week. She is committed to playing basketball at Minot State and the Panthers will face Ray in the upcoming Class B Region 3 tournament at the Minot Auditorium. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Eve Knutson, a senior from Minot High who also plays volleyball and track, signed with Williston State girls basketball on November 5—she has been a starter since her sophomore year. Her addition to the team follows her strong performance in multiple sports. KFYR-TV
