- ➤ On Oct. 11, the State Historical Society of North Dakota will hold the annual Ghost Walk at Fort Buford State Historic Site near Williston with tours from 6—8:15 p.m. CT. The free event continues with a mini fall festival at the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center until 9 p.m. featuring 1800s-era games, Halloween crafts, and light refreshments. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ At Williston Basin International Airport, TSA agents are working without full pay during the government shutdown and will receive 75% of their paycheck in the upcoming period—airport director Anthony Dudas said backpay after that period remains unclear. KFYR-TV
- ➤ After last year's historic wildfires burned over 110,000 acres in Williams County, the North Dakota Forest Service is partnering with other agencies during Fire Prevention Week—running through Saturday—to urge residents to check daily fire danger and burn restrictions and review safety measures like smoke alarms. - ➤ North Dakota congressional leaders urged the federal administration to create a bridge support program for soybean farmers facing low prices amid a trade war and government shutdown—an effort designed to protect local income until better trade deals are reached. KFYR-TV
