GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Oct. 1, the Williston Fire Department will change its call response system to keep service efficient as incident calls rise. Williston Herald
- ➤ The city of Williston passed its 2026 budget following a public hearing Tuesday night. The $195 million budget has a modest surplus—though it required department cuts and a 3% increase in property taxes. KFYR-TV
- ➤ The city of Williston adopted a resolution to build a year-round indoor athletics facility funded by $1 million per year from a 1% sales tax, with extra investments of $12 million from the county and $13 million for local infrastructure. The project will break ground next summer and take 16 to 24 months to finish—creating a space for sports and large events. KFYR-TV
