ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Williston man in his thirties suffered a gunshot wound to his leg during target shooting on Sunday evening—rescuers applied a tourniquet before paramedics took him to the hospital, where he is recovering.  KFYR-TV
  • A child was hurt on Labor Day near Mandaree when she was run over by a rolling tire from a pickup towing a boat while playing near the trailer—she was flown to Sanford Medical Center as highway patrol investigates the accident.  KFYR-TV

CRIME NEWS

  • A Williston man was arrested after allegedly choking and assaulting a taxi driver over the weekend.  Williston Herald

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Terry Entzminger from Jamestown said his farm is reducing dairy operations and switching to crops as North Dakota dairy farms have dropped from over 2,000 to just 21 in the last 40 years due to rising costs and low milk prices — a sign that new investment might renew the industry. He remains hopeful and continues his work with the North Dakota Livestock Alliance.  KFYR-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • North Dakota Secretary of State Michael Howe has opened nominations for the 2025 North Dakota Election Hero Award to honor poll workers, election teams, and policymakers. The award honors over 3,000 poll workers and aims to inspire young volunteers—nominations must be submitted online by Oct. 8.  KFYR-TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • Our Redeemer’s volleyball team did not make the state tournament in 2024 and is working hard to get back as they will host the Honkers this Thursday at 7 p.m. The team, which made the Class B Tournament 10 times in 13 years, now faces new challenges under the three-class system + now plays against top Class A teams.  KFYR-TV
