Opportunity Foundation is hosting the 21st Annual Darrell Schmidt Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept.
25 at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Williston (breakfast 8:30-10 a.m.). The fundraiser aims to raise $50,000 for a new vehicle to give reliable transportation to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
🎓 Education
Grenora Public School held a convocation on Aug.
13 at the Grenora Golf Course clubhouse where teachers and board members built team spirit plus took part in skits and chants to set a positive tone ahead of the 2026-27 school year.
🏛️ Government
On Sept. 14, the Tioga Community Center will host a data center open house — local and state officials will present facts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help residents assess the benefits and challenges of upcoming projects in the area.
North Dakota lawmakers reviewed public comments on data centers on Monday, Aug.
31 as speakers raised concerns about transparency and nondisclosure agreements plus highlighted economic benefits and the need for local regulations. Some urged a moratorium while others promoted strategies for constructive development.
