  • City officials partnered with James Memorial Art Center to reopen City Hall with a new exhibit space for local artists—one of the city’s busiest public areas now serves as a venue for showcasing local talent. Local representatives said the project will give area artists a much-needed space to present their work.  Williston Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Williston has worked with Mr. Cecil since 2022 to provide farmers market, special event, and temporary use permits for Cottonwood Forest / Pumpkin Patch events while meeting zoning and safety standards, but he declined the available options and chose not to hold certain events this year — the City remains ready to collaborate on a solution that aligns with its zoning framework.  Williston Graphic
  • A new online Concealed Weapon License Validation Tool lets gun owners quickly check if their concealed license is valid by showing a red light—green light status at the time of purchase. Attorney General Drew Wrigley said the tool meets state and federal rules while protecting user privacy.  KFYR-TV

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Caring Foundation is offering scholarships to ease healthcare worker shortages in rural and underserved areas. The foundation will award 30 $2,500 scholarships — and one $5,000 scholarship, with applications due Oct. 1.  KFYR-TV
