CULTURE NEWS

  • The James Memorial Art Center in partnership with the City of Williston announced an open call for local and regional artists to submit original artwork for display in the City Commission room, with art rotations scheduled from July to October, November to February, and March to June. Artists may submit up to two pieces (the first submission deadline is July 7) and must meet size and hanging requirements while keeping 100 percent of any sale price.  Williston Graphic

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Trenton High School students attended a Reality Fair — an interactive event that taught them important adult skills and real-world money planning — sponsored by the Glenn Perkins Educational Foundation Trust. Amy Wells from First State Bank and Trust said the event improved career readiness and showed students how to handle everyday financial challenges.  Williston Graphic

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Basin Electric Power Cooperative plans its largest project—the Bison Generation Station—to generate nearly 1,500 megawatts from natural gas near Ray and Epping. The Public Service Commission will hold a hearing on June 30 at 9:00 a.m. at the Grand Williston Hotel to review the proposal.  KFYR-TV
