- ➤ In March, North Dakota’s oil production increased by 2.4% with revenues rising 8.5% and natural gas production climbing over 5% to 3.4 billion cubic feet per day—Director Nathan Anderson said the rise followed February’s extreme cold and warned fracking crews and rig counts may soon decrease due to volatile prices. - ➤ According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, America exports about 10 million barrels of oil and gas per day to 173 countries and three U.S. territories, and Ron Ness of the North Dakota Petroleum Council said rising exports are expected to boost American energy. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Gov. Kelly Armstrong appointed Pat Traynor as the interim commissioner of the Department of Health and Human Services—Traynor will take a one-year leave from Dakota Medical Foundation to serve full time beginning June 2. He replaces Dirk Wilke, who will keep leading the agency’s public health division. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Four Native American tribes in North Dakota will receive a share of nearly $110 million in affordable housing funds from HUD. The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa will get $10.77M, Standing Rock Sioux $7.78M, Three Affiliated Tribes of Fort Berthold $4.7M, and Spirit Lake $4.2M — part of a larger allocation to tribes in six states. - ➤ Williston City Commissioner Tate Cymbaluk resigned on May 13 after a threat was made against his family—he served for over a decade during the city’s rapid growth and COVID-19 challenges. A replacement will be appointed to finish his term ending in 2026. Williston Graphic

- ➤ State health officials deployed a mobile medical unit at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center to check people with measles symptoms or possible exposure. The 1,000-square-foot unit—holding between 8 and 16 beds—will stay in Williston as long as needed while officials report 10 confirmed measles cases in Williams County and two in Cass County. KFYR-TV
