- ➤ Compassion Keepers Kloset will host a barbecue fundraiser at Harmon Park on Saturday, May 30 from 4—7 p.m. The event will include hamburgers, hot dogs, live music by Jon Slater and a silent auction to raise funds for essential foster care supplies for local children and families. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Secretary of State approved a constitutional school meals initiative after verifying 49,338 valid signatures from the Together for School Meals campaign. The measure, designated (Measure 3), will appear on the Nov. 3 ballot to offer free breakfast and lunch (no cost to families) for K–12 students. Williston Herald
- ➤ Williston officials proclaimed May 22 as Arbor Day, Public Works Week, and Emergency Medical Services Week, with Public Works planting a tree at Harmon Park at 10 a.m. Friday. The city awarded contracts for airport work, a $21,000 community grant to Western Star Foundation, and a fire truck sale. Williston Herald
