CRIME NEWS

  • A Williston man was arrested following a standoff at Fort Union, a national historic site in Buford Township, late Tuesday afternoon as authorities investigate the incident.  Williston Herald

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The North Dakota Department of Water Resources received $769 million from House Bill 1020 to fund water supply and flood control projects over the next two years — funds largely coming from the state’s Resources Trust Fund. Projects include $12.6 million for the Northwest Area Water Supply and $81.1 million for the Mouse River Flood Protection Plan.  KFYR-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Kelly Armstrong recapped his first legislative session as governor where over 1,000 bills were introduced on issues like baiting deer and speed limits. He said he would work on property tax relief by providing resources for a new property classification and protecting legacy fund earnings — with only a few bills left to sign — and noted plans to support industrial measures to boost the state budget.  KFYR-TV
