- ➤ Williams County Parks will host a free summer concert series starting July 19 and ending August 30. The concerts will feature bands from North Dakota and Minnesota and run (7 to 9 p.m. Central) at park sites like Kota Ray Dam, Little Egypt, and Epping/Springbrook Dam with camping allowed. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A dust storm advisory was issued on Monday in McKenzie, Williams, Billings and Golden Valley Counties as strong winds stirred dust from burn scars left by last October’s fires between Ray and Tioga, reducing visibility to less than a mile. The blowing dust may cause respiratory issues and damage machinery—prompting drivers to pull off the road safely. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Lawmakers passed House Bill 1176 to cap local governments from increasing property tax levies by more than three percent per year, and the measure will impact school boards as they plan next year's budgets over the summer (Williston City Commissioner Sen. - ➤ The NDDOT said phase one of construction at the 2nd Avenue West and 26th Street West intersection ended Tuesday after traffic lights were removed to set up temporary signals — the four way stop now directs vehicles while crews shift traffic to the east and northbound lanes in phase two, which will begin later this week and continue through October with permanent striping planned for next year.
