  • Kota Ray Dam will reopen this Memorial Day weekend with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for May 22 at 4 p.m. and upgraded features like a youth pedal park, reconfigured campsites, comfort stations, and a lakeside lawn-chair amphitheater — online reservations for both Kota Ray Dam and Blacktail Dam will open on May 19 at 8:30 a.m. for dates between May 23 and October 31.  Williams County

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Mary is launching a Teacher Leadership Academy for educators in the BPS and WPS districts to provide leadership training and skill development; the program will begin later this year — further details are expected.  Williston Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Legislature passed a historic property tax reform that gives up to a $1,600 credit for homeowners—lawmakers also capped local tax increases at 3% and set funds aside for school gap funding, disabled veterans, and renters. The bill was approved right before the session ended, and no gas tax increase will occur.  Williston Graphic
