Rain on Monday brought over an inch to Williston, Bismarck, and Jamestown, which helped local producers begin planting after a dry spell.

Governor Kelly Armstrong vetoed a bill on Monday that would have expanded state employees' health benefits without raising premiums.

Williston Mayor Howard Klug supported Senate Bill 2323 as the legislature approved the measure to shift funds from the Strategic Investment and Improvements Fund; the bill will deliver $10.5 million each year from the gross production tax share with a 70—20—10 split among Williston, Dickinson and Minot to offer debt relief for infrastructure built during the last oil boom.
