- ➤ 84-year-old publisher Tinker has announced her retirement from The McClusky Gazette after handling all roles for five years, and she is seeking a computer-literate buyer to keep the paper running in Sheridan County and prevent it from becoming a news desert. Williston Herald
- ➤ Tioga’s first certified first responder therapy dog duo, led by handler Michelle Grubb and her seven-year-old Great Dane Smokey McSmokerson, help relieve stress for firefighters at the local fire department. They will attend the NoDak Defrost HOT Conference in Dickinson from Apr. 30 to May 3. Williston Herald

- ➤ Williams County announced $100,000 in tourism grants yesterday to support projects and events outside Williston that aim to boost local tourism. Recipients include Quick Acres – Dakota Sun Winery and Tioga Historical Society (among others) as part of the county's ongoing economic effort. Williston Graphic
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota schools, local governments & nonprofits can apply for $3.6 million in grants to support walking programs, before-school exercise classes and community gardens, boosting healthy lifestyles. Applications must be submitted by May 22, and conference calls are scheduled for early May. Williston Herald
