ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Monday afternoon, Williston Fire Department responded to a garage fire that spread from the wall to the roof and attic — the incident was caused by a cigarette disposal unit placed too close to the building and no injuries were reported. KFYR-TV
- ➤ The Williston Fire Department responded at 2:27 p.m. to a report of a detached residential garage fire on the 1800 block of 14th Avenue West and crews are now investigating the incident for any hazards—more updates will follow. Williston Herald
- ➤ Firefighters in Williston extinguished a small wildfire near Energy Street (Depot Lane) after being alerted at 1:45 p.m., with about half an acre burned, no injuries or structure damage, and an investigation linking the fire to fireworks banned outside Fourth of July and New Year’s. KFYR-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The House accepted changes from the Senate and sent a bill to the governor to create educational savings accounts for private school expenses—using different income levels to set the aid amount. The bill sets aside $21.7 million from the general fund and will let students receive between $1,100 and over $4,000 each year starting in the 2026-27 school year—final per-pupil payments are still under review.
