Union Rendezvous—an annual reenactment in June—is cancelled this year due to staffing challenges; Fort Union Superintendent Alice Hart said there are only three permanent employees and not enough support from volunteers. ➤ The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close several recreation areas in North Dakota and nearby states on May 1 — steps aimed at ensuring visitor safety, protecting the environment, and sustaining dam operations — due to staffing and resource limitations. KFYR-TV
➤ Williams County Commissioners approved a $12 million pledge for a year-round indoor ice facility on April 15—funding that will help advance the project in Williston. Williston Herald
