BUSINESS NEWS

  • Williston Airport Director Anthony Dudas said commissioners approved a new contract with Sun Country Airlines for direct flights to Las Vegas from Sept. 4 to Dec. 15 this fall — flights will now run on Mondays and Thursdays instead of Sundays and Thursdays — to help counter a 14% drop in passenger numbers after public feedback. Dudas also noted plans to market more to regional travelers amid challenges like brand recognition and staff shortages.  KFYR-TV

CRIME NEWS

  • A Fargo woman was arrested on Monday, March 24 for allegedly stealing over $430,000 from a family member.  Williston Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Williston commissioners approved plans for the Fighting Pike Data Center on Tuesday. The three-phase project run by Critical Data House will be built alongside Highway 2 and 85 southwest of Love’s with phase one set for completion by the end of 2026 and full operation targeted by 2031 — a third-party consultant will ensure noise mitigation measures are applied and maintained.  KFYR-TV
  • The Williston City Commission met on March 25th and approved renewing a Minimum Revenue Guarantee (MRG) with Sun Country Vegas to maintain the air service route.  Williston Herald
  • The Senate passed House Bill 1305, which strengthens criminal trespass laws by defining a dwelling to include empty homes and structures and raising charges for repeat offenses — the bill will have another vote in the House.  KFYR-TV
