ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Xcel Energy announced that starting April 1, natural gas bills will rise for more than 66,000 local customers due to investments in facilities, including upgrades to peaking plants + pipeline integrity. If approved, full increases may add over $10 monthly while eligible refunds and assistance options remain available. KFYR-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Advanced Nuclear Energy Committee reviewed two Nucleon Energy reports showing a 200-megawatt reactor could add 100 jobs and $1.7 million in taxes. The reports warned that a reactor will cost over a billion dollars and more studies on small modular reactors will come later. KFYR-TV
- ➤ The ND Tax Commissioner’s Office warns local taxpayers to avoid online tax advice since only 22 days remain until the tax deadline. Residents are encouraged to contact a professional or use official dot-gov sites (not social media) for accurate guidance. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Williston City Commissioners approved an air service agreement with Sun Country Airlines that will offer direct fall season flights between Williston Basin International Airport and Las Vegas. Williston Herald
