- ➤ On Thursday, March 20th, the Governor signed Senate Bill 2386, amending the Cottage Foods Act so bakers, farmers and artisans may ship homemade food across state lines and take orders by phone and online. The law now removes a key restriction and even allows shipments of poultry products that were once limited to in‐state sales. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Mayors from Dickinson, Minot, and Williston are seeking more state funding as they work to fix local projects—Williston needs money to pay off debts for its new airport and wastewater treatment plant. Sen. Brad Bekkedahl of Williston introduced Senate Bill 2323 that calls for an extra $40 million in gross production taxes—74% for Williston, 16% for Dickinson, and 10% for Minot. KFYR-TV
- ➤ House lawmakers passed Senate Bill 2282 with a 72 to 12 vote on Friday, creating a tax credit that gives employers 50% off contributions up to $500 per employee for childcare benefits. The bill now awaits another Senate vote before it becomes law. KFYR-TV
- ➤ House lawmakers killed a bill that would have stopped third-party surveys of students on sensitive topics + the vote was 44-to-40. Supporters said they will ask for a revote Monday when more members return. KFYR-TV
